LIKE WITH LIKE

This organizing adage applies well to your clothes. 

Start off with similar items (shirts with shirts, slacks with slacks, etc.)   Sort those similar item category into like colors (black shirts with black shirts, jeans with jeans).  

If you get really OCD you can even sort into more specific categories (tanks, short sleeved, long sleeved or shorts, capris, slacks).
